
Today, June 30, a newly-built dual-fuel LPG/ammonia carrier for Jixis Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jixis”) was handed over to Kawasaki Kisen Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “K-Line”) by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Kawasaki Heavy Industries”).
K Marine Ship Management Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “KMSM”), are assigned as vessel manager for this vessel.
Prior to the delivery of the vessel, a naming ceremony was held at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Sakaide Plant on June 6, and the vessel was named “AXIS RIVER”. This vessel will be the third contracted vessel with the K-Line and will respond to K-Line’s expanding transportation needs and support a stable energy supply.
The vessel uses a dual fuel engine that can use heavy oil and LPG as fuel, and is a next-generation environmentally friendly vessel that is expected to reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions, and is also a liquefied ammonia transport vessel capable of carrying ammonia, for which demand is expected to increase in the future for decarbonization. KMSM will continue to actively respond to a wide variety of transportation needs and provide safe and high-quality transportation.
